I’m Becky, an empathy and impact-driven UX and Product Designer.
My journey for product design began when I found myself looking for a career that allowed me to create and challenge myself to be analytical at the same time. Coming from a background in psychology and counseling, I had never imagined myself on this path. Nonetheless, I took any chance I had to design, which eventually led to a lot of opportunities I’d never imagined I could experience. I believe that having empathy, asking the right questions, but most importantly--the willingness to adapt and improve, make me a great designer.
The people I work with -- whether it’s the user, a developer, or a commissioner without technical knowledge -- will impact the design.
I navigate each step according to the situation the project calls for.
Remain in a constant growth mindset when it comes to design trends, new software, new practices, etc.
I worked on designing an intervention planning platform that streamlined goal-directed intervention and reporting. Currently building design systems.
As a UX Intern at Compassion International, I redesigned a major app in development to improve data comprehension and collection.
I researched, designed, and implemented a full scale news website to inspire UC Berkeley students to take action on climate change.
At SSPC, I led a web redesign overhaul that streamlined the appointment making process.
I enjoy journaling and singing. Exploring emotions through song and music allows me to have empathy and build community. Journaling allows me to not only build a sense of visual layout, but it also allows me to build strong communication skills. And also, I love food and cafes!
